The Adidas NMD dropped for the 1st time on Dec 12th 2015 in a Primeknit ‘Core Black/Lush Red’ colorway. At that time, the silhouette was all new, dropping on the same day than the Air Jordan 11 Retro “72-10”. The release did sell out in a few days but not instanstly. I even remember posting a restock in Size store a few days after around Midnight CET, there were still pairs available in the morning.
“Inspired by the past but always looking to the future”, the Game-Changing Sneaker takes inspiration from archival adidas models : adidas Micropacer, adidas Boston Super & adidas Rising Star. The three stripes brand did combine cutting edge style with their latest innovations (Boost, Primeknit).
Since this 1st drop, Adidas released a lot of variations of this model via different materials (Primeknit, Knitted, Mesh, Suede, etc), silhouettes (NMD_R1, NMD_C1, NMD_XR1, etc) & patterns (Digi Camo, Duck Camo, Monochrome, etc). Of course Adidas Consortium also dropped a few dope collaborations as the Mastermind, Nice kicks or Packer shoes.
It seems like this model is in the sneaker market since way more than just 1 year. Sneakerheads needed something new, Adidas gave them.More stuff coming for sure this year !
Still convinced or not by which is now a classic, you will have another chance to grab the Original version of this model tomorrow.

Check our exclusive comparison of the 2015 release vs 2017 release. The difference are minor but you can still notice a few :
– Back collar more black on the 2017 (A dark grey on the 2015)
– Blue box (2015) vs Black Box (2017)
– Toe Box shape seems a bit different (can vary from a shoe to another). I let you jugde by yourself
– Collar lining includes grey accents on the 2015 version while the 2017 version is more full black
