Very anticipated release by any Jordan Brand collector, the Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Black Cement’ is coming back on the shelves tomorrow with the original Nike Air branding on the heel.
Originally released in 1988, this iconic colorway of Air Jordan 3 was debuted by Michael Jordan during his 1987-1988 MVP season, and also during the 1988 All-Star Game in Chicago. After that, it was released again in 1994, 2001, 2008 and last seen in 2011. The original logo treatment was last seen in 2001 as other releases were applied the new Jumpman logo.
The Nike Air Branding did come back in the past few years like in 2013 on the ‘White/Cement’ AJ3 (25th Anniversary), in 2015 on the ‘Maroon’ AJ6 or in 2016 on the ‘Black/Metallic Silver’ AJ5. So this 30th anniversary release is just on point.
The pair consists of a Black leather upper completed by a classic Elephant print on the heel & toe mudguards. These elements contrast with Fire Red & Cement Grey details on the tongue, lining, parts of the outsole, eyelets & more to recreate the classic famous colorway.
The sizing is true to size for me & I found the pair more comfortable than expected. I have to admit that I’m not a big fan of 3’s normally but this colorways is so clean. Clearly a must have in any Jordan Collection.
