Clearly in its element, New Balance is surfing on the neo vintage running trend by offering us a new round of a Protection Pack on the 2002R silhouette.
In 2021, the first pack was a hit with the New Balance 2002R 'Rain Cloud' in particular (For those who would have missed it, the price is actually decreasing. Grab a pair from Stockx, Flight Club, Goat, Kicks Crew)
Some other colorways will appear in 2022 before passing the baton to the New Balance 1906 more recently.
For this spring, New Balance presents us a new pack of 4 monochrome pairs on the same concept. The release dates have been quite random at most retailers with good old first come first served basis like in the old days. The last pack is always a great success and is already sold out in most stores.
Don't worry, more chance to get them very soon.
The New Balance 2002R Protection Pack 'Slate Grey' is part of this latest iteration of the Protection Pack. The pair includes an upper inspired by the running shoes of the 2000s.
Its grey mesh base is complemented by suede overlays in other shades of grey, and features the famous irregular contours that give that aged with time effect.
On top of that, the tongue in foam and random cut reinforces this deconstructed aspect that has seduced many fans of the brand.
Far from being left out, the comfort of the New Balance 2002R Protection Pack 'Slate Grey' is true to the brand's requirements.
This is achieved through the culmination of its running technologies via 3 different aspects: The Stability Web technology of the outsole accentuates the support under the feet while the ABZORB midsole absorbs the shocks by combining the cushioning and the resistance to the compression.
Finally, the N-ergy cushioning in the interior completes the comfort by providing superior shock absorption.
About the sizing, the New Balance 2002R fits true to size.
We recommend taking your usual size for this model.
The New Balance 2002R Protection Pack 'Slate Grey' is already out in many stores and is almost sold out. The official drop on the New Balance website will take place this Thursday April 13th at 10am CET.
