Design & Inspiration

The design splits its story between two creatures. The wasp side covers the upper with see-through, iridescent blue TPU and synthetic overlays that wrap the quarter and heel and shift colour in the light, echoing the insect's metallic body. Beneath them, red, orange and yellow gradient mesh glows through, with an orange midfoot plate matching those warmer tones. The tarantula side arrives in black pony hair on the tongue and collar, swapping the glossy finish for a furry texture. Black leather panels ground the palette. A teal-outlined Saucony logo on the side and a teal swirl sockliner add subtle finishing details. afew, the Düsseldorf boutique behind the project, translates its inspiration into materials rather than graphics, making the shoe feel like a true storytelling piece. The ProGrid Omni 9 is an archival runner from Saucony's Grid series, and its layered construction gives the design plenty of room to work.

Comfort & Performance

ProGrid cushioning in the midsole provides the responsive, everyday comfort the Omni line is known for. Breathable mesh underlays keep the foot ventilated during wear. Translucent TPU and synthetic overlays add structure and support around the heel and quarter. Orange midfoot plate stabilises the foot through the stride. Rubber outsole for reliable traction.
