The Low version of the Jordan 1 remains in the spotlight as the year draws to a close, with a general release inspired by 2022's Air Jordan 1 Low OG Howard University PE.
In the USA, Nike-sponsored university basketball teams are often privileged to have exclusive colorways resulting in PE (Player Exclusive) releases. Unfortunately, these are super-limited editions and are not marketed. Occasionally, Nike slightly offsets a given design to make a general release. This is exactly the case here.
Directly inspired by the Howard University PE of 2 years ago, the pair takes up the color code of the team and updates a number of design elements.
The upper here opts for full-grain leather, whereas the PE version featured premium suede overlays. The toe of the sneaker is now navy blue and the team logo is no longer visible on the insoles.
Finally, an off-white sole and matching laces add a vintage touch to complete the design.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG 'Howard University' will be available on Saturday at a retail price of 159.99€/144.99£
