Design & Inspiration

Mineral Beige soft suede overlays across toe, quarter panels, and heel provide premium texture. Mineral Beige breathable open-cell mesh base ensures ventilation. Driftwood brown textile detailing adds subtle contrast. Layered construction with multiple curving panels creates Y2K-era retro aesthetic. ASICS wave logos flow along lateral and medial sides. GEL lettering woven into heel. Embroidered logo on tongue. 3D ASICS text on lateral heel. Cream white midsole. GEL-CUMULUS 16 tooling system delivers cushioning contrast to retro upper. Combination of lightweight foam and GEL technology inserts in forefoot and heel provides comfort. FLUIDRIDE technology uses dual-density responsive foam.

GEL-NYC Heritage

GEL-NYC debuted Spring 2023 as collaboration with Awake NY led by designer Angelo Baque inspired by New York City fashion hub. Created as new mash-up silhouette combining ASICS archive heritage with modern performance running. Upper construction references GEL-NIMBUS 3 from early 2000s blended with embellishments from GEL-MC PLUS V released 2001. Tooling system borrowed from GEL-CUMULUS 16 originally launched 2014. Developed by ASICS Sportstyle division specializing fashion-forward interpretations of performance runners. Celebrated ASICS GEL technology heritage introduced 1986.
