Design & Inspiration

Premium Truffle brown nubuck wraps the entire molded upper and TPU heel clip creating monochromatic luxury aesthetic. Velvety suede covers every surface except the metallic silver zipper on the signature shroud closure. Gold foil sockliner adds refined detail. Debossed Shai logo on tongue maintains tonal execution. The material upgrade channels artisanal chocolate and luxury goods while preserving the sculptural one-piece construction originally sketched by SGA himself. SHAI 001 Heritage

The SHAI 001 launched September 2025 as SGA's first signature shoe and Converse's first new signature basketball model in 15 years. SGA became Creative Director of Converse Basketball in 2024, hand-drawing initial sketches that informed the final design. The debut "Butter" colorway kicked off a strategic rollout through the 2025 playoffs as SGA led Oklahoma City Thunder to their first championship. Features puffed molded upper with zipper shroud, Nike Zoom Air cushioning, and radial traction. Gilgeous-Alexander becomes the 11th player in history with a Converse signature shoe.
