Design & Inspiration

This "Miami" colorway features PUMA Team Royal blue and PUMA Silver upper with blue racing stripes across tongue and toe mimicking R34's iconic livery. Silver base provides metallic finish reminiscent of Brian O'Conner's 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R from "2 Fast 2 Furious" (2003). Custom graphics throughout capture Y2K attitude associated with Miami street racing scene. Design bridges gap between collection's performance basketball models and off-court lifestyle appeal. Collaboration celebrates franchise's 25th anniversary alongside NBA All-Star Weekend 2026 in Los Angeles. Brian O'Conner drove silver Skyline with blue C-West stripes throughout second film, using car for street races hosted by Tej Parker in Miami. Originally painted teal before being customized to silver with blue decals, featuring C-West body kit, HRE 446 rims, Flexivity wing. Skyline became one of franchise's most celebrated cars alongside O'Conner's Toyota Supra and Mitsubishi Eclipse. Car ultimately impounded after U.S. Customs agent disabled it with ESD harpoon.

LaFrancé debuted May 2024 as LaMelo Ball's first lifestyle sneaker named after his official designer streetwear and lifestyle brand. Chunky silhouette with exaggerated proportions draws inspiration from 1990s and early 2000s skate footwear, particularly Osiris' famed D3 sneaker. Features supersized design with fat ultra-wide laces, well-padded tongue, chunky zig-zag lace closure. Floating ovals throughout midsole decorated with iconic Ball graphics. "LF" and "La France" inscripted on mega tongue, imprinted into ultra-thick cup sole. Upper ovals inspired by butterfly symbolizing Ball's "1 of 1" motto. Rubber midsole includes branding: "01 Of One," "Not From Here," LaFrancé logo. Durable rubber outsole features LaFrancé-branded traction pattern. Ball described shoe as "swaggy, crazy, colorful, rare." Design represents elevated street-inspired take on off-court fashion fueled by Ball's fierce flair and energy.
