Hiroshi Fujiwara has done it again. For his first take on Nike's newest Air Max innovation, the godfather of streetwear strips everything back to black — and the result is one of the most coveted drops of Spring 2026. The fragment design x Nike Air Liquid Max "Black" launched March 31 via Fragment stores, followed by a wider SNKRS release on April 3.
More details about it
The Air Liquid Max is Nike's latest leap forward in Air cushioning — a brand-new silhouette built around a point-loaded Air pod system designed to deliver a fluid, precise underfoot sensation with every step. For their inaugural collaboration on this model, fragment design takes the futuristic runner in the opposite direction from the vibrant general release colorways: style code IQ8601-001 arrives in an all-but-blacked-out build, where a three-layer textured mesh upper shifts between dark hues and chrome Swooshes catch the light just enough to break the monotony. The signature "FRAGMENT CONCEPT TESTING" text appears near the collar and across the visible Air pods, a nod to Fujiwara's trademark industrial branding language. Fragment's iconic double lightning bolt logo stamps the insoles in crisp white against a signature blue background — understated but unmistakable. Underfoot, a drop-in Cushlon midsole sits atop the point-loaded Air system for a ride that feels as premium as the collaboration itself. Custom Fragment-branded packaging completes the package.
