The Air Force 1 just got its most rugged upgrade yet. Part of Nike's Summer 2026 Vibram pack, the "Silt Red" colorway gives the iconic 1982 silhouette a technical, gorpcore-ready makeover — without losing an ounce of its street credibility.
More details about it
Designed by Bruce Kilgore and first released in 1982, the Air Force 1 has been reimagined countless times — but the LX Vibram edition is one of its most functional pivots to date. Style code IH1943-600 swaps the traditional leather construction for a ripstop-style grid textile upper, giving the silhouette a lightweight, technical feel that reads more utility than court. The "Silt Red" colorway works a tonal palette of Silt Red and Light Violet Ore across the upper, contrasted by black Swoosh and lace detailing, with a subtle Speed Yellow accent running through the Vibram branding on the lateral midsole. That branding marks the key upgrade underfoot: the standard AF1 sole is entirely replaced by Vibram's high-performance rubber outsole, featuring a rugged tread pattern engineered for superior grip on urban surfaces without going full hiking boot. Smooth leather Swooshes and a nylon tongue maintain a structural nod to the original, while a Nike Air unit keeps the cushioning where it needs to be. A clean blend of heritage and function, built for the streets.
