Design Inspiration & Story

Part of Nike’s City Pack Collection, the “Hong Kong” edition of the Air Max 95 Big Bubble pays tribute to one of the most visually electric cities in the world. The concept draws from Hong Kong’s skyline, dense urban architecture, and its iconic neon signage that lights up the streets at night.

The Air Max 95 has always been inspired by the human body, with layered panels representing muscle fibers. Here, those layers feel like stacked city blocks, glowing under artificial light. The “Big Bubble” tooling nods to the early Air Max era, bringing back an exaggerated visible Air unit that feels both nostalgic and bold.

Look & Feel

The upper blends dark base tones with vibrant neon accents, echoing the contrast between Hong Kong’s night sky and its illuminated storefronts. Gradient paneling runs along the sidewalls, a signature 95 detail that gives depth and movement.

Bright hits around the lace loops and Air units add energy without overwhelming the design. The overall look feels urban and fast, built for the city.

Materials & Construction

Breathable mesh anchors the upper, layered with suede and synthetic panels for structure and texture. Reflective detailing enhances visibility and adds to the night-time theme.

Underfoot, the Big Bubble midsole amplifies the visible Air cushioning in the heel, staying true to the original Air Max DNA while delivering modern comfort. The outsole features durable rubber with flex grooves for everyday wear.

Fit & Wear

The Air Max 95 typically fits true to size with a snug midfoot feel due to its layered construction. The cushioning setup provides solid impact protection, making it comfortable for long days on foot.

This release blends heritage running design with city-driven storytelling, turning the Air Max 95 into a tribute to Hong Kong’s unmistakable energy.
