The first-ever retro of the 2004 Athens Games classic. The Nike Air Max 95 "Olympic" returns for the first time since its original 2004 release, bringing back the bold Olympic rings-inspired colorway that coincides with the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy.
Design & Inspiration
Sergio Lozano's Air Max 95 debuted in 1995 with design inspiration drawn from human anatomy—muscles, ribs, and spine creating the iconic layered gradient aesthetic. The "Olympic" colorway originally dropped in 2004 during the Athens Summer Olympics, celebrating Greece as the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games and becoming one of the most sought-after Air Max 95s of all time.
The 2026 rendition recreates the original 1:1 with white mesh and leather base providing clean contrast to the five Olympic ring colors across layered panels and lace loops: black, blue (Photo Blue), green (Classic Green), red (Chile Red), and yellow (Varsity Maize). The tongue badge references the Greek flag's gold crown detailing, paying tribute to the 2004 Athens host country. Gold-tinted visible Air Max units run the full length of the sole, matched by Metallic Gold branding on the tongue. A small gold Swoosh anchors the heel with Nike Air branding completing the design. The Big Bubble tooling provides an accurate recreation of the original 2004 construction with clear Air units.
Comfort & Performance
Full-length visible Air Max cushioning delivers responsive comfort and impact protection. The layered construction combines breathable mesh with leather and synthetic overlays for supportive structure without sacrificing flexibility. The wavy design follows anatomical principles for natural movement.
