Design Inspiration & Story
The “Seongsu” edition from Nike’s City Pack Collection pays tribute to one of Seoul’s most creative neighborhoods. Often described as the Brooklyn of Seoul, Seongsu is known for its converted warehouses, independent brands, cafés, and a mix of raw industrial architecture with modern design culture.
The Air Max 95’s layered construction mirrors that environment. Just like Seongsu’s stacked concrete buildings and repurposed factory spaces, the shoe feels structured yet expressive. The return of the Big Bubble tooling reinforces the retro foundation while spotlighting the silhouette’s early innovation roots.
Look & Feel
This colorway leans into muted greys and earthy tones, reflecting exposed concrete, steel, and brick textures commonly found in Seongsu’s industrial landscape. Subtle accent colors add depth without overpowering the design.
The gradient side panels remain the visual anchor, while small hits of color around the lace loops or Air units bring contrast. It feels urban, refined, and slightly understated, much like the neighborhood that inspired it.
Materials & Construction
The upper combines mesh with suede and synthetic overlays, staying true to the original 1995 build. Textured finishes give the shoe dimension, echoing raw materials like cement and metal.
Underfoot, the Big Bubble heel unit exaggerates the visible Air cushioning, delivering both comfort and a nod to early Air Max history. Durable rubber outsoles ensure everyday wearability.
Fit & Wear
The Air Max 95 typically fits true to size, with a snug midfoot feel due to its layered design. The cushioning setup provides solid support for daily wear.
The “Seongsu” edition captures the intersection of heritage performance and modern creative culture, turning the Air Max 95 into a wearable reflection of Seoul’s evolving street scene.
