The Nike KD 3 "Aunt Pearl" is a tribute to Kevin Durant's late Aunt Pearl, who bravely battled cancer. This iconic colorway has been a recurring theme in Durant's sneaker line, with the "Aunt Pearl" releases always standing out. For the first time, Nike and Durant have decided to introduce the "Aunt Pearl" colorway to the KD 3 model.

The shoe boasts a Flywire, leather, and mesh construction, all drenched in varying shades of pink. This includes the toebox, midfoot panel, and heel. The mesh tongue and laces also feature a similar pink hue, complemented by a white Nike Swoosh that extends towards the heel. The KD logo, branded in pink, is also present. A special tribute to Aunt Pearl and basketball coach Kay Yow, who also faced multiple battles with cancer, is found on the heel. The foundation named after Coach Yow has been supported by many of the past "Aunt Pearl" releases, with its logo appearing on the left sneaker's tongue. The design is completed with a bright pink sockliner, a two-tone pink and clear midsole, and a pink rubber outsole.
