Pharrell Williams brings ocean-floor energy to adidas with the Jellyfish "Royal Blue," translating the marine creature's translucent anatomy into one of 2025's most talked-about chunky silhouettes.
Design & Inspiration
The Jellyfish draws its DNA from adidas' early 2000s Adistar line — notably the Response CL and Cushion 3 — reinterpreted through Pharrell's signature organic lens. The "Royal Blue" colorway layers a white and grey mesh base with Team Royal Blue TPU wing panels that protrude horizontally off the side panels, mimicking the translucent exoskeleton of an actual jellyfish. Black Three Stripes, a wave-sculpted midsole, and Royal Blue midsole accents complete a silhouette built around 3D-molded panels and deep-cut overlays. First seen as a ComplexCon Las Vegas exclusive in October 2025, this global release marks the colorway's official public debut after previous drops in Orange, Green, and Grey fueled the Jellyfish's run as one of sneaker culture's most debated designs of 2025.
Comfort & Performance
Built for lifestyle wear, the Adistar Jellyfish prioritizes all-day cushioning via an advanced midsole system tuned for comfort rather than sport performance. The chunky platform provides substantial underfoot support while the mesh upper ensures breathability. Partially constructed from recycled materials, the shoe reflects both Pharrell and adidas' shared commitment to more responsible production practices.
