Design & Inspiration

Originally launched in 2005 as the GCS PRO (Ground Control System), designer Christian Tresser created this aggressive trail runner during Salomon's partnership with adidas (1997-2005). Tresser drew inspiration from motorcycle gas tanks for the metal eyelets and ribcage structure for the breathable midfoot, influenced by his father's motorcycle racing background. The 20th anniversary edition revives an unreleased 2005 sample colorway featuring rich old gold leather overlays, black mesh panels, silver cloud textured hits, and translucent side walls. Each pair includes a sample tag attachment, "20 Years" tongue patch, limited-edition box, and gold-black shoe bag.

Comfort & Performance

The ACS PRO features the Agile Chassis System—a combination of AC Skeleton, AC Muscle 2, and AC Tendon technologies that enhance footstrike control, cushioning, and energy return. The molded TPU cage provides structural support while the All Terrain Contagrip outsole delivers grip across multiple surfaces. The SensiFit technology wraps the foot for secure lockdown, maintaining the technical DNA that made the original a 2005 Backpacker Editor's Choice award winner.

The brand organized treasure hunts across Paris, New York, and Mexico City with hidden codes unlocking early access. The model was relaunched as the ACS PRO Advanced in 2021-2022, becoming one of Salomon's most popular lifestyle offerings.
