Design Inspiration & Story
Melbourne retailer Up There continues its long-standing relationship with adidas Originals by spotlighting a lesser-known terrace silhouette and tying it directly to its home city. The “Dark Green” colorway reflects Melbourne’s deep parklands, historic architecture, and layered street culture.
Rather than going loud, Up There leans into subtle storytelling. The focus is on tone, texture, and atmosphere. It’s a shoe that feels rooted in place, built to represent the city without obvious branding or forced graphics.
Look & Feel
The upper is dressed in rich dark green suede, giving the shoe a grounded and premium feel. Cream or off-white accents on the Three Stripes and midsole provide contrast while keeping the overall look balanced.
The shape stays true to classic adidas terrace design. Low profile. Clean lines. Minimal bulk. It feels refined and wearable, whether paired with tailored trousers or relaxed denim.
Materials & Construction
Soft suede dominates the upper, offering depth and texture. Leather detailing on the stripes and heel tab adds structure and contrast. Gold foil branding along the lateral side gives the pair a subtle heritage touch.
Underfoot, the rubber outsole maintains that classic gum or tonal finish often associated with terrace silhouettes, providing everyday durability and grip.
Fit & Wear
The adidas Melbourne typically fits true to size with a slightly narrow, streamlined shape, common across terrace-inspired models. The low-cut build makes it easy to wear daily, while the premium materials elevate it beyond a standard general release.
This collaboration feels thoughtful and city-driven. It’s understated, but that’s the point. A quiet statement built on craftsmanship and local pride.
