Design & Inspiration

Built on the foundation of UGG's iconic Neumel boot, the Lowmel represents a new direction for the California brand—transforming classic sheepskin boot aesthetics into a versatile sneaker designed for year-round wear. This women's exclusive version in the Chestnut colorway embraces UGG's heritage palette, with the warm brown tone dominating the upper through a thoughtful mix of materials. Soft suede overlays round out the toe and form the sides, eyestays, mudguard, and heel counter, layered over a base of recycled ballistic canvas mesh and recycled polyester in tan that outlines the heel. The toe box and ankle area feature Chestnut polyester for tonal cohesion. An oversized padded tongue and padded collar deliver the plush comfort UGG is known for, while a webbing heel strap with pull tab nods to the brand's boot origins. UGG branding appears debossed on the lateral heel and via a logo patch on the tongue. The laces are made from 100% UNIFI recycled polyester fibers in a two-tone flat construction, with an additional set included. This hybrid design delivers the indoor comfort of a slipper or boot with the functionality and style to wear outside, capturing UGG's evolution from beachside surf culture to modern lifestyle footwear.

The Lowmel features UGG's commitment to elevated comfort through premium materials and cushioning. The interior combines a polyester mesh lining (55% coffee charcoal modified polyester, 45% regular polyester) with 10mm UGGplush™ made from 60% upcycled wool and 40% lyocell. A 10mm UGGplush™ insole (60% upcycled wool, 40% TENCEL™ Lyocell) sits atop an EVA footbed for soft, responsive cushioning.

Release Information & Pricing

The UGG Lowmel "Chestnut" released originally in June 2024. It restocked for this fall 2025 with a retail price of €170/£140 and is available in women's sizing through UGG Store and select retailers worldwide. The outsole is crafted from renewable, rainwater-nourished sugarcane EVA instead of petroleum-based materials, reflecting UGG's sustainability commitment alongside the recycled materials throughout the construction.
