The ASICS GEL-SEKIRAN, released in February 2025, is a hybrid sneaker that blends heritage running design with modern comfort technology. Rooted in ASICS' deep performance footwear history, this model draws inspiration from some of the most notable running shoes from the 2000s and early 2010s, making it an exciting addition to ASICS' SportStyle lineup. This model has been released early and exclusively by UK retailer Footpatrol in its first 2 colorways.
The design references a mix of past ASICS models, notably the GEL-NIMBUS™ 13, GEL-CUMULUS™ 12, and GEL-CUMULUS™ 17. These models were known for their high-mileage cushioning, lightweight mesh uppers, and GEL™ shock absorption technology, all of which have been reinterpreted in the GEL-SEKIRAN for a modern audience. The sneaker combines these legacy elements with contemporary updates to appeal to both performance-minded individuals and fashion-forward sneakerheads.

Description and Construction

The upper of the GEL-SEKIRAN is a direct nod to the GEL-NIMBUS™ 13 and GEL-CUMULUS™ 12, featuring layered synthetic overlays on engineered mesh, staying true to the design DNA of ASICS' early 2010s running models. This blend ensures a combination of breathability, support, and durability, while the retro-futuristic paneling gives the sneaker a unique aesthetic.

The midsole tooling is borrowed from the GEL-CUMULUS™ 17, one of ASICS' most well-regarded neutral running shoes. This setup includes:
