Origin of the Jordan Jumpman Jack TR
Following a long-standing collaboration between Nike, Jordan Brand and Travis Scott, the Jordan Jumpman Jack is the famous rapper's very first signature pair.
After numerous successes on the swoosh's and MJ's most iconic models, the Jumpman Jack marks a turning point in the collaboration by creating a never-before-seen silhouette for Travis Scott.
Teased for the first time in 2023 by the rapper himself, the pair boasts an innovative look at first glance, always echoing the singer's codes. Designed as much as a performance pair as a lifestyle shoe, the Jumpman Jack has been developed to meet the challenges of everyday wear.
It was released to the general public for the first time in April 2024 in 2 colors: 'University Red' (exclusive to Travis' website) & 'Sail'.
A collaboration with a confusing name
Since the first leaks on Travis Scott's signature pair with Jordan, the model's name has been uncertain for quite some time.
Initial rumors dubbed the pair 'Jordan Cut The Check'. It seems that Travis and the Oregon-based brand had a hard time agreeing on a name.
The pair will finally be released in April 2024 under the name Jordan Jumpman Jack TR (TR for T-Rexx). However, on Travis Scott's website, the first colors were labeled CJ1 T-Rexx (for Cactus Jack 1).
Could it be that the rapper didn't want 'Jordan' in the name of his personal pair ?
In any case, since the 3rd colorway, it seems that Nike has made up its mind, as they've uploaded the pair to the SNKRS app under the name CJ1 T-Rexx.
So Jumpman Jack TR or CJ1 T-Rexx ? Which one do you prefer for the name of Travis Scott's 1st signature pair with Jordan Brand ?
Description & Anatomy the shoe
The Jumpman Jack presents a silhouette directly inspired by training shoes. It features a forefoot strap for adjustable support and lateral rubber reinforcements for stability.
As for materials, the upper is a blend of canvas, suede and leather for a richly textured finish. The iconic reverse Swoosh on the sides is not missing, while the 'TS' logo is embroidered on the outside of the strap.
Travis Scott's co-branding can be seen on the tongue with a Jumpman 'crown' logo and on the heel with the famous 'Cactus Jack' smiley logo.
Finally, hidden under the sole, we can see the inscription 'Jack' which finalizes the design of this collaboration.
