It's been a long time since we've seen a customizable Nike Air Max 1, going back to the days of NikeiD programs if I'm not mistaken.
To the delight of all collectors of the silhouette, Nike is bringing it back with a By You release for this summer 2023.
In terms of materials, you can choose from nubuck, smooth leather, and polished croc (which will reveals another colour with wear) on most of the components of the pair.
Traditional mesh (preferred by many) is available on the toe and lining. You can also opt for a touch of luxury with velvet on the latter.
The classic Swoosh is replaceable with a jewel Swoosh logo, and a gold or silver bracelet is available as an accessory.
Nike has not neglected the importance of the iconic sole as the famous Nike Air unit, midsole and outsole can also be customized.
Finally, an embroidered logo on the toe completes the design, with options including a small or oval swoosh, rose, stars, chain & custom text.
