Technical Description
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Flight Club" (style code II9811-001) arrives in a Black / Sail / Gum Medium Brown / University Red colorway that departs from the silhouette's traditional all-leather construction. The upper combines a nubuck base with denim overlays, a pairing that gives the shoe a raw, textural depth rarely seen on an AJ1. Sail-colored contrast stitching traces the vamp, toe box, and collar, creating a hand-crafted vintage outline throughout. Reflective accents line the overlays and Swoosh for subtle flash, while University Red hits the Wings logo and Nike Air tongue branding — nodding directly to the original 1985 colorway language. The tongue exposes its sponge foam lining for an intentionally aged, deconstructed look. A heel-encapsulated Nike Air-Sole unit provides cushioning underfoot, sitting on a Sail foam midsole and a Gum Medium Brown rubber outsole. The insoles carry archival Flight Club imagery and the club's original logo on each heel.
Storytelling
The "Flight Club" collection is Jordan Brand's 2026 tribute to a piece of its own founding mythology. The original Flight Club was a mail-in fan membership program that ran through the late 1980s and into the 1990s — a rare, direct line between Jordan Brand and its earliest loyalists. Members received seasonal newsletters, posters, and collectibles that helped shape the brand's identity long before social media. That tangible storytelling now lives on the inside of this shoe: archival Flight Club photographs and the original club logo stamp both insoles, making the most personal details the ones you only see once you take it off.
The Flight Club Series — Jordan Brand's 2026 Heritage Play
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Flight Club" is the second chapter in a growing Jordan Brand collection for 2026, following the Air Jordan 4 "Flight Club" released earlier this year. The series draws a direct line between Jordan Brand's 40th anniversary and the membership culture that built its fanbase in the late '80s. The AJ1 leads as the most symbolic model in the lineup — the shoe that started everything in 1985. It drops April 11, 2026 via SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers.
