The New Balance 992 Made in USA "Olivine" opens the Spring/Summer 2026 collection under Teddy Santis's creative direction with understated earth tones. Part of New Balance's Made in USA program guaranteeing 70% or more domestic production, this release features soft green hues across premium materials. Originally released in 2006 for New Balance's 100th anniversary and famously worn by Steve Jobs, the 992 returned to the Made in USA rotation in 2024 under Santis's guidance.

Design & Inspiration

Sage green mesh covers the toebox and ankle, with matching pigskin suede overlays on toe, mudguard, heel counter, and eyestays. Creamy tan leather appears on midfoot supports and hairy suede heel tab. Caramel brown outlines the "N" logo and appears on tongue branding. Olivine green accents the TPU heel counter, eyelets, and midsole portions. "USA" branding sits on heel cutouts. Pre-aged off-white ENCAP midsole and gum brown outsole complete the look.

New Balance 992 Heritage

The 992 debuted in 2006 as the second "99X" series model, designed by Jonathan Bacon with ABZORB SBS cushioning. Known for clean grey pigskin suede and mesh, it became Steve Jobs's signature shoe from 2007. After discontinuation around 2010, it resurged in 2020 with collabs from Joe Freshgoods, WTAPS, and JJJJound. Teddy Santis became Made in USA creative director in 2021, bringing the 992 back in 2024.
