Design Inspiration & Story
Salehe Bembury’s take on the New Balance 992 continues his nature-driven design language. Known for pulling inspiration from landscapes, textures, and organic color palettes, this “Green” edition reflects earthy tones and layered terrain.
The 992 itself is one of New Balance’s most respected Made in USA silhouettes, originally introduced in 2006 and later brought back into focus during its resurgence. With Salehe involved, the model becomes less about retro running and more about expressive material storytelling.
Look & Feel
Different shades of green flow across the upper, creating depth through contrast rather than loud color blocking. The mix of moss, forest, and muted olive tones gives the sneaker a grounded, outdoors-inspired feel.
The layered panel construction of the 992 naturally complements this palette. Each overlay stands out subtly, allowing the textures to do most of the talking. It feels premium, balanced, and easy to wear despite its bold tonal direction.
Materials & Construction
As part of the Made in USA line, the build focuses on high-quality materials and craftsmanship. Expect premium suede overlays paired with breathable mesh underlays for structure and comfort.
Underfoot, the 992 features ABZORB cushioning in the midsole, offering a supportive and stable ride. The sculpted sole unit maintains that classic New Balance running aesthetic while delivering everyday wearability.
Fit & Wear
The 992 typically fits true to size with a comfortable, slightly roomy toe box. It offers solid support through the midfoot and heel, making it ideal for all-day wear.
This collaboration blends heritage performance design with Salehe Bembury’s signature organic approach, turning a classic Made in USA silhouette into a textured, nature-inspired statement.
