Origin of the design & History

First released in 1989,  the Air Jordan 4 was designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield as a follow-up to the immensely popular Air Jordan 3. It was the first Jordan sneaker to be launched on a global scale, solidifying Michael Jordan’s influence both on and off the court. With its bold design and performance-focused features, the Air Jordan 4 retains the same cushioning characteristics as the AJ3, with a visible air bubble at the rear of the shoe. It innovates by adding open parts on the sides protected by a plastic cage that reveals the inner lining.
This model quickly became a cultural icon, recognized as much for its impact on basketball as for its presence in music and streetwear.
The silhouette debuted in four original colorways, which remain timeless staples for the sneaker community : 'White Cement', 'Bred' or 'Black Cement', 'Fire Red' & 'Military Blue'.
Appearing at iconic moments on the court and in pop culture, these iconic colors have over time defined the sneaker heritage we know today.

The Air Jordan 4 features a high-top design with a distinctive look characterized by its mesh panels, plastic wing eyelets, and visible Air unit in the heel.
