Founded by the renowned Angelo Baque, former director of the Supreme brand, Awake NY quickly established itself in the fashion and streetwear scene with a typically New York DNA.
Maintaining a genuine working relationship with Asics for several years, Angelo was given the opportunity to create his own model for the Japanese brand: the ASICS GEL-NYC was born.

A true blend of archival GEL models, the ASICS GEL-NYC draws its inspiration from heritage and modern, high-performance running styles.
Its sleek, streamlined upper construction references the GEL-NIMBUS 3 of the early 2000s and blends it with various elements of the GEL-MC PLUS V.
On the sole, the pair combines lightweight foams and GEL technology inserts, echoing the structure of the GEL-CUMULUS 16.
Contrasting the retro look of the upper, its midsole provides ideal cushioning and maximum comfort.
